Anacani was born in Chicago in 1986. She was given her first camera at the age of 5. Once out of the city and into the suburbs, Anacani learned that theres beauty everywhere. It didnt consist of just the beautiful Chicago skyline, Lake Michigan or the well known Navy Pier; but it also included the simple things in life like landscapes, people and everyday objects. Growing up, she took advantage of all the photography classes she could fit in her schedule. At the age of 17, she bought her first Canon Powershot camera. Upon graduating high school, she attended medical school where there was no time for photography. Then in 2006, Anacani left her pursuit of a degree in nursing to become a self taught photographer and editor, first conventional and now digital. Shes currently a freelance photographer based out of Plainfield, Illinois. I enjoy getting close to a subject and finding "art" in everyday objects that people walk right by or glance over without giving a second thought. I look for, crave, and savor the unexpected perspective, the new light cast on an old object. I look for the beauty that lies somewhere between pristine intention and sullied decay. I look for unintended beauty awaiting discovery if one only looks closely enough then take small things and make them big and possibly reveal a little grace in the process. - Anacani Carrera |
